NAHPA president
Pastor Carlos Durán serves as President of the National Hispanic Pastors Alliance (NAHPA), a national coalition of Christian denominations, organizations, and leaders advancing the voice, leadership, and influence of the Hispanic faith community across the United States.
With more than three decades of ministry and community leadership, Rev. Durán has cultivated strategic partnerships at both national and international levels, strengthening faith-based leadership, advancing community engagement, and fostering collaborative initiatives throughout the United States and Latin America. His leadership is marked by a commitment to principled influence, cultural engagement, and the formation of leaders equipped to serve with clarity and conviction.
A longstanding advocate for Israel, Pastor Durán’s commitment predates the founding of NAHPA and reflects a sustained dedication to strengthening relationships between the Hispanic Christian community and the Jewish people. In 2024, he was recognized by The Jerusalem Post as one of the Top 10 Christian Zionist leaders worldwide. In 2025, he became the first Hispanic leader named to the Israel Top 50 Christian Allies list, ranking #40.
Through NAHPA Israel, Rev. Durán has led efforts that have brought hundreds of Hispanic college students and over and hundreds of pastors and leaders to Israel, while mobilizing churches across the United States to engage in education, advocacy, and meaningful support. His leadership has contributed to a deeper understanding of the historical and spiritual relationship between Christianity and Israel, the importance of Judeo-Christian values, and the urgent responsibility to confront antisemitism with clarity and resolve.
In 2012, Pastor Durán was honored by the White House as a “Champion of Change” in recognition of his national impact supporting fathers, families, and the Hispanic community.
Pastor Durán resides in Maryland with his wife, Libia Durán. Together, they are the proud parents of five children and grandparents to five grandchildren. He is an ordained minister and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

Libia Duran serves as the Israel Director for the National Hispanic Pastors Alliance (NAHPA), where she leads strategic efforts to strengthen meaningful relationships between Hispanic Christian communities and Israel. Her work is centered on building bridges of understanding, fostering unity, and promoting informed engagement rooted in respect, honor, and shared values.
With a leadership voice shaped by both faith and global awareness, Libia brings a unique ability to navigate complex cultural and spiritual conversations with clarity and sensitivity. Her approach is further informed by a background in psychology and sociology, contributing to her discernment in relational and cross-cultural dynamics.
She is the founder and president of Pastors Wives of America (PWOA), a national network dedicated to supporting and equipping women in ministry through leadership development, community, and spiritual formation.
Libia’s influence extends beyond organizational leadership. She has been honored with a Congressional Woman of Distinction Award, presented by She Leads America, recognized as Volunteer of the Year in the State of Maryland, and received a gubernatorial citation for her contributions to education and community service. Her work reflects a consistent commitment to service, excellence, and the advancement of leadership grounded in integrity.
At the heart of her work is a clear conviction: that lasting relationships are built through trust, and that unity requires both intentional leadership and cultural understanding. Through her role at NAHPA Israel, Libia continues to serve as a bridge-builder—connecting communities, elevating dialogue, and contributing to a deeper, more informed partnership with Israel.
Gerardo Laboy

El Pastor Gerardo A. Laboy es un líder cristiano comprometido con el desarrollo espiritual, el liderazgo y la formación de una nueva generación de hombres y mujeres con propósito. Con una profunda pasión por el servicio a Dios y a su comunidad, ha dedicado su vida al ministerio pastoral, la enseñanza y el fortalecimiento de la iglesia.
Antes de su dedicación plena al ministerio, el Pastor Laboy desarrolló una distinguida carrera militar de 22 años, especializándose en el campo de la logística y la formación de líderes. Durante este tiempo, adquirió una sólida experiencia en planificación estratégica, administración de recursos y desarrollo de equipos de alto rendimiento, lo que ha influido significativamente en su enfoque de liderazgo tanto dentro como fuera del ámbito eclesiástico.
Actualmente, se desempeña como Director de Base de Fe en la administración de la ciudad de Maunabo, Puerto Rico, donde trabaja en la integración de iniciativas comunitarias y de fe para el bienestar social, fortaleciendo la colaboración entre el gobierno y las organizaciones basadas en la fe. Además, funge como Jefe de Operaciones de la Alianza Nacional de Pastores Hispanos (NAHPA), desempeñando un rol clave en la planificación, ejecución y supervisión de iniciativas estratégicas dirigidas al fortalecimiento del liderazgo pastoral y el impacto comunitario a nivel nacional e internacional.
En el ámbito académico, cuenta con licencias universitarias en Consejería Pastoral y Teología, así como en Medios Electrónicos y Cinematografía, y en Ciencias en Computadora, lo que le permite integrar el conocimiento teológico, tecnológico y comunicacional en su labor ministerial y de liderazgo.
Se ha destacado por su capacidad de comunicar principios bíblicos de manera clara, relevante y transformadora, impactando tanto a líderes como a congregaciones. Su enfoque ministerial integra la fe con la acción, promoviendo valores como la integridad, el carácter, la excelencia y la responsabilidad social.
El Pastor Laboy ha participado activamente en iniciativas de liderazgo y formación ministerial, colaborando con organizaciones que buscan equipar a pastores y líderes para influir positivamente en la sociedad. Su visión incluye el empoderamiento de la iglesia para ejercer un liderazgo efectivo tanto dentro como fuera del ámbito eclesiástico.
Además de su labor pastoral, ha contribuido al desarrollo de programas educativos y eventos dirigidos al crecimiento espiritual y profesional, demostrando un firme compromiso con la educación continua y el impacto comunitario.
